Fresno State, featuring Aussies Hayley Munro and Emma Andrews didn't have to worry about making the Women's NCAA Tournament. Neither did Oral Roberts and Rachel Watman. By winning the WAC and Summit League Tournaments respectively they earned automatic berths. The only thing they had to wait on was where and who they would be playing. Today as the women's bracket was unveiled, they found out.
Fresno State learned they are the #14 seed in the Spokane Bracket. They will face #3 seed Baylor in the opening round to be played in Albuquerque, New Mexico. That game will take place on Sunday March 23rd (Australia) at a time to be determined shortly.
Oral Roberts is a #16 seed, and they get the honor of playing #1 seed Tennessee in the Oklahoma City Bracket. That game takes place in West Lafayette, Indiana on Monday March 24th (Australia) at a time to be determined.
Also in the Spokane Bracket is Wyoming, featuring Aussies Hanna Zavecz, Rebecca Vanderjagt, Jade Kennedy, and Gemma Koehler. The Cowgirls are the #11 seed and will face #6 seed Pittsburgh in Albuquerque on Sunday March 23rd (Australia). Missing an invite from the Mountain West Conference was TCU and Helen Roden.
Iowa State and Alison Lacey shocked #1 seed Kansas State in the Big 12 Tournament, and that helped them in their NCAA Tournament bid. They are the #7 seed in the Greensboro Bracket and they'll face #10 seed Georgia Tech featuring Aussie Brigitte Ardossi. Practically a home game for the Cyclones of Iowa State, that game takes place in Des Moines, Iowa on Sunday March 23rd (Australia) at a time to be determined.
Also in the Greensboro Bracket is Minnesota and Zoe Harper. Minnesota is the #9 seed, facing #8 seed Texas in Bridgeport, Connecticut on Monday March 24th (Australia) at a time to be determined.
Gabby Fage and Arizona State are the #6 seed in the Oklahoma City Bracket. They take on the #11 seed Temple in College Park, Maryland on Monday March 24th (Australia) at a time to be determined.
